WOODBURY, Minn. (Dec. 16, 2025) — Ideal Credit Union is proud to announce the promotion of Shannon Butler to chief operations officer (COO), effective immediately. Butler steps into the role with 25 years of service at Ideal Credit Union, most recently as senior vice president of operations.
As chief operations officer, Shannon will lead digital banking, payments, and core deposit product innovation. She will also continue to serve on Ideal Credit Union’s strategic leadership team.
Shannon began her career at Ideal Credit Union as a teller, advancing through roles in member service, marketing, and contact center operations. She led significant transformation over the last decade as vice president of digital banking and senior vice president of operations.

In addition to her operational responsibilities, Shannon chairs the Ideal Credit Union Foundation and serves on the John Miller Scholarship Board, demonstrating her commitment to the credit union’s people-serving-people values. She is also a grassroots advocate for the credit union movement through the Minnesota Credit Union Network.
