(Woodbury, MN – November 2, 2017) – To raise funds to help areas in the Caribbean devastated by Hurricane Irma, Ideal Credit Union, in partnership with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, launched a two-week drive from October 6-20, 2017, to encourage donations from members, employees and the community at large, and pledged to match up to $2,500 of the money collected.

(Woodbury, MN – October 6, 2017) A strong showing of support enabled the Ideal CU Community Foundation to raise $25,560 at its 8th annual golf tournament on September 11, 2017, which is an increase of $2,300 from the previous year. The event, held at StoneRidge Golf Course in Stillwater, attracted 103 golfers and 36 sponsors. The foundation will use the funds to aid local education, food shelf and community initiatives.

(Woodbury, MN – September 21, 2017) – Ideal Credit Union held a ribbon cutting ceremony at its ‘historic’ Stillwater branch in August, marking the official grand opening of the city’s first and only credit union. The morning began with a flag raising ceremony conducted by Boy Scout Troop #114 of Stillwater, who led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. Bag piper Cindy Lendt played “God Bless America” and Kate Boehlke sang the National Anthem. A ribbon cutting followed, led by members of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, Ideal CU Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee members, and executive and branch staff.

(Woodbury, MN – September 14, 2017) Ideal Credit Union has been honored with a 2017 Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award for its involvement in the MN Brain Tumor 5K. The award, sponsored by the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN) and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), recognizes credit unions for the activities they coordinate that benefit the communities they serve and/or specific charities.
