A New Way to Pay

Ideal Credit Union has partnered with Samsung Pay to offer you the convenience of mobile payments with your compatible Samsung® device.

Safe & Secure

Samsung Pay utlizes tokenization and fingerprint authorization to protect your card information. The tokenization method generates a unique alphanumeric identifier for each purchase you make, which means your actual card number is never used or shared with the merchant.

Get Started with Samsung Pay

Adding your Ideal card is simple and quick:

  1. Sign in to your Samsung account and open the Samsung Pay app. Click ADD CARD.
  2. Use your camera to enter your card information automatically. You'll be prompted to enter the security code found on the back of your card.
  3. Use the information provided to contact Ideal CU and complete your card verification.

Once you have completed these steps and verified your card activation with an Ideal CU representative, your card will be ready to use for Samsung Pay.

What is Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay* offers a secure and simple way to pay at stores or in popular apps using select Samsung Galaxy devices.

How does Samsung Pay work?

Samsung Pay works using Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST), a technology that emits a magnetic signal that mimics the magnetic strip on a on a traditional payment card. Simply select a card from Samsung Pay, and transmit the payment information by moving your device within an inch of the payment terminal. Your transaction and payment information will be kept private and secure with the use of tokenization. MST is more secure than using a traditional payment card and is as secure as paying with Near Field Communication (NFC).

Which devices support Samsung Pay?

Supported Samsung Galaxy devices include Galaxy S6®, S6 edge®, S6 edge+® and the Note 5®. Visit www.samsung.com/pay for a full list of compatible devices.

Which Ideal CU cards can I add to Samsung Pay?

Currently all Ideal Debit & Credit Cards are available for use with Samsung Pay.

How do I get Samsung Pay on my device?

For Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note 5, Samsung Pay will be automatically installed through a software update. Going forward, compatible devices in supported countries will have Samsung Pay preloaded when purchased.
Verizon Samsung devices require an Over-the-air software update to download Samsung Pay. Directions for Verizon Samsung device owners.

Will I receive a receipt for purchases made using Samsung Pay?

You will receive and sign a receipt for each purchases made with Samsung Pay. However, you will not receive a physical or digital receipt from Samsung Pay.

How can I make a return for Samsung Pay purchases?

Returns through Samsung Pay are treated the same as returns where a physical card was used and is subject to the store's return policy. You may be required to have your phone available to complete the purchase return.

How long will it take for my card to work after adding it to Samsung Pay?

For your security, you will need to contact Ideal Credit Union to finish adding your card to Samsung Pay. You will be prompted when to call during the adding process. Once you have called and your card has been verified, your card will being to work with Samsung Pay immediately. {How many cards can I add to Samsung Pay?} Samsung Pay allows for up to 10 card - both debit and credit - to be added at any one time. {Where can I learn more about Samsung Pay?} You can learn more and find full set-up and usage instructions at www.samsung.com/pay.
